Google Drawings is a great tool that allows you to edit, crop and resize images without any graphic design experience.

Throughout this guide, we will show you how to get started with the tool and how to create the perfect image template for your slider.

Getting Started

To start a Google Drawing project go to:

  1. http://drive.google.com

  2. Click > NEW

  3. Go to ‘More

  4. Click ‘Google Drawings

You will now be taken to the canvas page.

Creating A Canvas Size

Creating a canvas size that you use on each slider image will allow you to keep a consistent style and size for your slider.

To do this simply:

  1. Click File

  2. Scroll down to ‘Page Setup

  3. Scroll down to ‘Custom

  4. You should now see a drop-down measurement setting. Open this and click ‘Pixels

  1. We recommend that you use the format 1500 pixels wide by 500 pixels high.

  2. You can use any size you like, as long as it is consistent for every slide it will keep your smartsite uniform.

Adding An Image

Adding an image is easy. Simply copy the image that you would like, paste it into your drawing then resize and move it throughout the canvas until it looks how you would like it to appear on your site.

Once your image is ready, simply click File > Download As and click JPEG.

You can now upload this to your smartsite to showcase your school in an attractive and consistent way.
